Who is Rose Lumumba?
CS. Rose Lumumba is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a holder of a Bachelor of Laws and Masters Degree in Business Administration (strategic management) from the University of Nairobi, and is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Business Administration specializing in Organizational Behavior at the same university.
Rose has worked successfully in the capital markets industry for a period of 20 years where she held various positions. She joined the Capital Markets Authority in 1994 and drafted the laws that built the industry and processed for approval applications for capital raising and licensing of intermediaries in the capital markets. Having secured a master’s degree in strategic management. She joined the investment banking fraternity where she advised several companies in capital raising publicly as well as through private placements. In 2008, Rose rejoined the Capital Markets Authority where she worked as the Director, Corporation Secretary and Communications and was the chief legal advisor to the Authority. At CMA, Rose has also previously worked in various other capacities including; overall in charge of the development of the Legal Framework in which she spearheaded the drafting of the current legal framework, head of enforcement and as a company secretary.
Rose has vast experience as an Investment Banker advising companies on capital raising and restructuring, corporate governance reform and regulation, training and evaluation of Boards. She is a specialist in Corporate Governance training and practice, board evaluations training and practice, financial law, capital raising advisory and has extensive experience in capital markets and investment banking, she a strong manager, mentor and team leader in multi-cultural settings.
Currently Rose is a consultant to the World Bank group on corporate governance for the East African region. She is also AoEC Accredited Executive Coach. and a Consultant. She undertakes Coaching for Executives in Senior and Middle Management positions in the public, private and NGO sectors.
